Who we are
McLymont's Helping Hands Children's Foundation is a Jamaican charitable organisation. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@mclymontshelpinghands.com.
Information we may collect
When you contact us or offer support, we may receive your name, email address, telephone number, country, address or location, contribution interest and the content of your message. At Foundation programmes and community events, we may also collect photographs or video recordings in which participants, volunteers, sponsors, parents, guardians or children may be identifiable. Please do not submit sensitive personal information about a child through the public forms.
How we use information
- To respond to enquiries and communicate about volunteering, donations, partnerships or events.
- To coordinate support and maintain appropriate administrative records.
- To send Foundation news or event updates only when a person has chosen to receive them.
- To protect the Foundation, our website and the people we serve, and to comply with applicable law.
Contact forms and email
The current website forms prepare a message in your own email application. The website does not maintain a separate database of those form entries. Once sent, the message is handled through the email services used by you and the Foundation and may be retained only as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, legal obligations or legitimate recordkeeping.
Cookies
We do not currently use advertising cookies, behavioural tracking or website analytics cookies. The website's hosting platform may use strictly necessary security, session or authentication technologies to deliver and protect the service. If optional analytics or marketing technologies are added later, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before they are activated.
Sharing and international services
We do not sell personal information. Information may be handled by service providers that support website hosting, email and communications, subject to appropriate safeguards. Some providers may process information outside Jamaica.
Your choices and rights
You may ask about personal information we hold, request correction or deletion where applicable, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent to future updates. Every promotional email should provide a straightforward way to opt out. Contact us using the address above.
Security and retention
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards and limit access to people who need the information for Foundation purposes. We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, applicable legal requirements and responsible recordkeeping.
Event photography and media
We may use approved photographs and recordings to document Foundation activities, report on charitable impact, acknowledge support and promote future programmes through this website, social media, reports or other Foundation communications. Where an individual is the primary identifiable subject, we seek appropriate permission from that individual or, for a child, from a parent or legal guardian. Crowd or general event images will be handled with regard for reasonable expectations of privacy, safeguarding and the purpose for which the image was collected.
When photography or recording is planned, the Foundation will seek to provide reasonable advance notice through event information, registration materials, entrance signage or an announcement. Adults who do not wish to appear should notify a Foundation representative and avoid clearly identified photography areas where reasonably possible. An adult who, after receiving this notice, voluntarily participates in an announced individual or group photograph may be understood to have agreed to the stated Foundation use. Attendance by itself is not treated as blanket consent for close or prominent publication, and this provision does not replace parental or legal-guardian authorisation for an identifiable child.
If you believe that an image of you or a child for whom you are responsible should be corrected, restricted or removed, contact us with enough information to identify the image. We will review the request promptly and, where appropriate or legally required, remove the image from Foundation-controlled channels. Removal from third-party search caches, social-media reposts or materials already distributed may not be immediate or entirely within our control.
Children's privacy and safeguarding
This website is directed to adults who wish to support the Foundation. We do not intentionally request personal information directly from children through the public forms. A parent, legal guardian or authorised organisation should communicate with us when information about a child is necessary. We seek parental or guardian authorisation before publishing a close, individually identifiable image of a child and avoid publishing unnecessary identifying details alongside children's photographs.
